VILLAGE OF MARATHON TAXPAYERS
PLEASE NOTE: In accordance with Section 11-1118 of the Village Law of the State of New York, ALL OUTSTANDING WATER AND SEWER ACCOUNTS, which are not paid by the close of business hours on Thursday May 21, 2026, will become a lien on the real property against which such account is charged and will be subsequently added to the tax bill of June 1, 2026.

Accepting: Metal objects including white goods, electronics, furniture.
NOT Accepting: Tires and construction debris
PLEASE NOTE: Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and any other appliances that contain refrigerants will ONLY BE ACCEPTED if there is a tag affixed that clearly shows that the refrigerant has been removed. TAG MUST HAVE DATE AND AUTHORIZING AGENTS NAME AND ADDRESS.
About Us
Established in 1794, Village of Marathon is committed to providing our townsfolk with the essential services they need. From maintaining public parks and spaces to handling essential services such as water, sewer, and electricity to our inhabitants. Our cozy village is home to approximately 1000 residents and hosts several wonderful events and programs throughout the year, such as our Maple Festival.
Come visit our town and attend our famous Maple Festival. During this event, we celebrate the rich maple industry in Marathon, New York. From our wonderful Maple Pageant to the exciting pancake eating contest, there are a lot of family-friendly activities to enjoy during the festival.
In our town, we have an elementary & high school which are dedicated to shaping the children to become the trailblazers of the future. They strive to help the kids find and develop their passions and to prepare them for life in the real world.
Board of Trustees Meeting Schedule
Our board of trustees meets during the first and third Wednesday every month to discuss and resolve any issues our townsfolk may be experiencing. The meetings are held at 7:00 PM at the Village Board Room at 18 Tannery Street.
